To create relevant and meaningful courses I worked with SMEs from companies to secure access to example datasets and developed tailored training experiences incorporating relevant examples using data employees were already familiar with in their daily workflow.
I created multiple skills-based courses impacting thousands of students per semester, which focused on using Excel and basic statistics to analyze data and present to external, non-scientific audiences. Courses were presented in a flipped-model which included video and quiz exercises prior to live sessions to teach steps of software execution, followed by cohort-based learning activities which focused on problem solving, real time data analysis, and presenting results with compelling visuals and explanations.
Students in 100-200 person classes were guided in creating individual original research topics, survey creation, data collection, analysis, and created slide based presentations of results that were presented to learners and graders in poster sessions.
Course included assessed skills in data ethics, problem solving, and presentation skills with a 95% success rate for students and a 4.8/5 instructor rating for facilitation.
I redesigned a course which allows 2000+ high school students to remotely earn college credit through engaging with online content I created and designed and facilitated by 71+ high school teachers on site.
